Video Game Translator
Nice to meet you!
My name is Igor, I’m 32 years old, and I’m a game translator based in São Paulo, Brazil. My journey into the world of localization began when I was just a little kid, fueled by a lifelong love for video games.
Gaming has always played a huge role in my life. I still remember the moment my parents gifted me my first Game Boy Color and a copy of Pokémon Crystal. I was so excited! But back then, localization in Brazil was rare, and games were mostly played in English. At first, I was very frustrated that I didn't understand anything, starting from the main menu.
But that didn't stop me. I started playing with an English-Portuguese dictionary that I borrowed from my dad by my side. By looking up words as I played, I taught myself English through the very games I loved.
Today, I’ve turned that childhood passion and persistence into my profession, ensuring that Brazilian players can immerse themselves in great stories without the barriers I once faced.
